ABC Workbook

This reproducible workbook features a page for each letter of the alphabet and is perfect for use in the classroom or as supplemental material to send home. Each page is divided into thirds. The top third features the letter superimposed on a drawing that begins with that letter to aid in remembering the sound the letter makes. For example, the "h" page features that letter superimposed on the picture of a horse. Next to that drawing is another letter that is large enough for the student to color it in and get a feeling for the shape of it.

The middle third of the page features three lines of practice space to either write the letter or, perhaps, words that begin with that letter. The bottom portion of the page consists of a picture dictionary of five more items that begin with that letter. For example, on the "h" page you will find a hippo, helicopter, hamburger, hat and house. The students color in these pictures as they say the names of the objects to practice their beginning sounds.

Your class can learn a letter a day, a letter a week or use it to practice their handwriting skills. First and second grade students may use this as a spelling book in which they write new words, or words they have trouble spelling, on the correct page.
