Your students will create double-sided "flip books" that feature antonyms. On one day they may make a book for "feliz." The next day they make the "triste" book. They glue these two books back-to-back to create a two-sided book featuring "opuestos."
For example, for the "feliz" book (see cover above) the students read "El niño está feliz." They then flip up the picture of the boy to reveal a picture of a man. They then read "El hombre está feliz." This continues with Gato, Perro and Oso to give them five trackable sentences that differ only in the first word. The "triste" book, which they glue to the back of the "feliz" book, features the same sentence pattern: "El niño está triste. El hombre está triste." etc.There are reproducible Flip Book patterns for the following antonyms: feliz/triste, lleno/vacío, limpio/sucio, pesado/ligero, caliente/frío, grande/pequeño, rápido/despacio, and mojado/seco. This book also includes a reproducible blank book which allows the teacher and students to create additional antonym booklets.
